Countdown to the big move-out
T-minus 6 days until the big move-out. I’m getting pretty excited about it. I spent Saturday doing some deep cleaning in my room at my parents house. I’ve lived there almost all my life, so there is so much crap that I have to sort through, most of which will be thrown away. It’s still a dounting task, but I’ll be glad when it’s all over.
Today after church, I went to Piedmeont Park and played ultimate frisbee for a while. Today was in the 80’s and man it was hot…. On top of that the park was PACKED! I had no idea so many people used the park, but there was hardly an empty space there that did not include people, or belong to some game of frisbee or football.
Afterwards we went back to a friend’s house who lives right next to the park and watched the end of the Georgia Tech game. (Go Jackets!) We hung out durring the Duke game, and then I went home to crash.
I’ve decided after spending the day in Mid-town that that is where I want to live. It’s got just a great feel to it, and people were out just walking around. That’s not something you see over here in Buckhead.. well, unless they’re drunk.
I would write more, but my head feels like it’s about to explode with pain. I don’t get headaches too often, but this one has hit hard. Tylenol is in th system, so maybe I’ll be good soon. Peace out.
If you live in Atlanta and own a truck, you just volunteered to help me move on Saturday =)
Moving on up
On April 1st, I’m moving on up. Yes, to the East side, to a de-lux apartment in the sky.
One of the guys from church (Joel Sasser) who I’ve gotten to know pretty well needs a roommate, and after doing the living at home thing for a year, it is time to move out from my parents house.
The good news: No more awkward silence when someone asks “where do you live?”
The bad news: I’m moving to Cheshire Bridge Road where this apartment complex is one of about five establishments that do not have an age requirement for entry. (It’s a really nice gated community though)
Overall I’m thrilled. I knew that God would provide the situation over the timing for when I moved out, and he has been incredibly faithful. Couldn’t be happier =)
Spam
I never get spam at work because I only use that address for business, however other people in the office do. One thing that I’ve found slightly humorous is that while we can filter most spam out, we can’t filter anything that says Viagra in it because Pfizer (who makes Viagra) is one of our clients.
Political Prostitution
The Georgia Democratic primary was held today, and I gladly stepped up to my civic duties and headed to the polls. The way Georgia does things, anyone can vote in the democratic primary regardless of what party they eventually vote for in November. So, with every ounce of strength I had I walked up to the polls and filled out a card to vote for a democrat. My so called political prostitution had begun.
Under no circumstances would I think about voting for anyone other than Bush in the real election, in fact I took this test and my views aligned with President Bush’s at 100%. However, if I can do my part to make John Kerry’s push for the Democratic nomination that much harder, and more expensive.. Today I became a democrat in disguise, and for a good 30 seconds I supported John Edwards.
Watching the votes come in for Georgia it appears to be a close race, but I also read headlines that say Edwards will pull out of the race in general. So, I guess I’m feeling a bit used, but we all have our reasons. It’s not something I’m proud of, but maybe the ends will justify the means.
On a side note.. How does it feel to be Dennis Kucinich? Right now he’s currently being beaten in multiple states by a Howard Dean campain that threw in the towel a month ago. To go further, Howard Dean is being declared the winner of the Vermont primary with currently 59% of the vote. I do realize Dean is from Vermont, but let it go people.
To shamelessly steal from one of the late night hosts, the only way Kucinich has a chance to get into the White House is if he goes to San Francisco and marries John Kerry.
