Olympics

Did you know that NBC will sell $1 Billion (yes, with a B) worth of advertising for the Olympics? And that an estimated $500 Million of that will be profit? (God bless capitalism…)

Why does the USA men’s besketball team suck? ..Oh yea that’s right, because the NBA sucks.

Why is it that to the casual gymnastics spectator, the only thing that matters about a routine is sticking the landing? The rest could be total crap, but as long as they stick the landing it looks like a perfect 10 to me.

Did you see that really tall, anorexic, russian gymnast? Somebody get her a triscuit, stat!

Could they please show the commerical promoting the upcoming season of The Apprentice one more time! Once a commercial break just isn’t enough.

On The Road Again

As most of you probably know, I love to travel. Unfortunatly since last November though I have had nothing to look forward to.. until today.

This fall, my brother, father and I will once again be traveling to globe. This time we will head South.. To South America! Specifically to Peru, to see Lima and Machu Picchu with a possible stop to Santiago, Chile. The trip is still in the infancy stage of planning, but it already sounds incredible. (Machu Picchu is an ancient Incan city that was never found and destroyed by their conquerors, thus left untouched, and “lost” untill it was re-discovered in pristine condition in 1911. See pictures)

For the last couple of months, South America was somewhere I really wanted to see, and knowing that my father has wanted to go to Machu Pichu for years make a great fit. I’d love to see Rio de Janiero, Buenos Aries, Iguassu Falls (Brazil), and Torres del Paine National Park (southern Chile), but it’s a big continent, it’ll take more than one trip. Anyways, I’m really excited about it!

————————–

I found out last Friday that one of the other buyers had quit/resigned/got fired/who knows… She was one of the buyers I assisted when I first got there, but I had not assisted her for six months now. She was not a lower-level buyer, so I am not in a position to be promoted to her job, but until they hire a replacement they have spread out her market list to a bunch of people, and they have given me Tallahasse, Florida!

Now I have buying duties and it’s one more step up! Very exciting. Tallahassee is not a huge market, and we don’t have all that much going on there, but it is still a chance for me to learn new things, and move up in the company.

More responsibility, same paycheck…. peanuts. It’ll turn around soon though I hope!
