Just because I don’t post anything to the webpage doesn’t mean nothing is going on…

Last weekend Atlanta had a huge ice storm that left most people to wander the Great Indoors all weekend (with apologies to John Mayer). Of course this ice storm started about 10pm on Friday night. No one missed work. By Saturday night I was so stir crazy that I braved the weather just to venture out of my apartment. Went to a friend’s apartment to watch movies.

Digging my car out of the ice was also hilarious. Generally you can use an ice scrapper to get ice off your windows, but on Saturday I had a good inch and a half cover of ice around my entire car. How childish, but how fun to watch as it comes off in sheets only to shatter into thousands of peices once it hits the ground. I generally also park at the top of parking deck at my complex, so for added excitement we’d get a good sized ice sheet and throw it overboard and watch it fall one story down to its demise. Another friend of mine got carried away and ended up using the scraper on the body of the car to get rid the ice. His car is leased, and we think he’s going to have to get the car repainted before he turns it back in.

I knew I’d probably be stuck at home all weekend so I rented the second season the the British comedy “The Office”. It’s a mockumentry (think Spinal Tap) on office life that really hits home. I don’t think I pick up on it as well as its British audience, but at least once an episode I’ll literally fall off the couch laughing.

Not that this will come as a shock to most of you, but I really think George W Bush will go down as one of the greatest Presidents in American History.

Tivo has changed my life. I’m so used to having the ability to replay things I miss that it’s carrying over to other parts of life. Watching other televisions I have to concentrate knowing that if I miss something, it’s gone. Tivo has a button that rewinds things 5 seconds and the sad thing is that I’ve wished I had that button in real life.

I have neighbors under me, that love to play music with lots of bass. Now, I can’t hear the music which is nice, but the bass comes through loud and clear. I can generally feel it coming through the floor, and it’s been like this ever since they moved in a couple of months ago. This came to a head though last weekend when after my roomate Joel and I stomped on the floor multiple times. To our amazement, the two african american girls came up and paid us a visit. We talked to them for a minute about the noise, were they told us that their music wasn’t that loud, and the bass in our apartment couldn’t possibly be theirs. I watched in amazement as my passive aggressive roomate then apologized for disturbing them. We’d complain more, but we’re afraid their ghetto boyfriends will come kill us.
