Rush playing themselves on Rock Band

The band Rush playing their song Tom Sawyer in the video game Rock Band. Hilarious.

Road Games

I drive roughly 45 miles a day between the house and the office, and have developed a collection of license tags sightings. There are the obvious garden variety of initials and names, but that’s not what I’m looking for. I like people who go the extra mile to show off their license tags. Here are the best ones from the past two months:

COORSLT – Seriously? What were they thinking?
IN2DMIX
DR PAIN (C-Class Mercedes)
TX PRIDE
XCLU$IVE
RUBADUG
BRNFREE (Mustang CT)
4HIMILV (Civic)
SUN4ME (Sebring convertible)
PSYCLE
THTGIRL (Sebring convertible)
JUNE 28
08 SGT (Shelby GT Mustang)
EXTINCT (Firebird)
OFF2WRK (Accord)
CARMA

But the pièce de résistance – driven by a female, I’ve seen it twice:

The recession beard!

Google Maps

I’m a google maps nerd, and have found a really interesting article on things you can see from space:

Top 10 Google Earth Finds

If you want to see another map trick, look up Point Roberts, Washington. Very interesting!

Loved reading this article from the Wall Street Journal that Melissa first posted.

Spring Fever

I’ve got the fever – bad. Spring Fever. I was in Tucson, Arizona last week, and the weather was awesome. This has been one of the colder winters in recent memory, and I was already wishing for warmer weather, but after going out west, my spring fever is out of control.

Of course, returning to Atlanta Saturday night just in time for all the snow was pretty awesome. If only we had waited one more day to return home… That’s a flight I wouldn’t have minded being canceled!

Speaking of airplanes, I’m going to Egypt with my father and brother in May. Really excited about it. Was briefly a little less excited about it after seeing a terrorist attack on a tourist market in Cairo (here), but I’ve gotten over that now. I guess there really isn’t anywhere that’s truly safe anymore. On the way back, we’re spending two days in Istanbul. I tried going there a couple years ago, but couldn’t get it together, so I’m really excited about that. Visiting four continents in one trip – not too shabby!
